My GAS has transferred to straps
cr1961 · Sep 24, 2023 at 12:24 AM · Replies 46
I have 4 guitars. Im genuinely happy with them. I’ve made an effort to stick with what I have and just PLAY. I haven’t bought a pedal in about a year.

And then, something strange happened. I bought a Souldier strap on a whim recently. Now I’m online obsessing over vintage patterns and the idea…

What’s the first song you learned to play on guitar?
sfarnell · Sep 23, 2023 at 5:03 PM · Replies 106
The first song I learned was “String Along,” by Ricky Nelson. It was 1963 and I was 9 years old. I played it on a ’59 Fender Duo-Sonic that my parents bought for me. I still remember the chords: C > Am > F > G. Simple. Here’s a video. Notice James Burton on telecaster. I couldn’t get his…
98% of the rich invest 5%+ in art – you can too
One reason the ultra-rich aren’t worried about a global economic meltdown? Their financial futures are protected in alternative assets that can withstand market turmoil.
For example, according to a report by global investment bank UBS, 98% of rich collectors reported investing at least 5% of their total wealth in art, with some investing over 50% in art!
But you’re probably wondering: how is the average investor supposed to get access to an asset that has been the exclusive domain of the ultra-rich for centuries?
The answer is Masterworks, an award-winning platform for investing in shares of multi-million dollar art. It’s not just easy to use – Masterworks has completed 14 exits on their artwork, all of them profitable, with the last three delivering net annualized returns of 17.8%, 21.5% and 35% to investors.
Today, TGP readers can use this exclusive link to skip the waitlist.

Beautiful Tele tone- Which pickups?
Stratkeysplz · Sep 24, 2023 at 1:57 PM · Replies 27
So I think the Morris VTR amp is influencing the tone probably more than anything, however I’d still love to know:

1) What Telecaster pickups would work best for this beautiful open chimey tone?

2) What is your personal favorite Telecaster pickup set?

Cheers!

Tonex High Gain recommendations?
geetarboy · Sep 23, 2023 at 4:27 PM · Replies 9
I’ve bought most of Amalgam Audio’s Tonex captures and couldn’t be happier with them, but I think clean to moderate gain seems to be his forte. The official Tonex high gain captures are not great. Does anyone have any high gain captures they’d recommend? Looking more for Maiden/Priest to…
can you show me all your guitars in one shot?

I recently saw that photos like the ones I’ve pasted below have been uploaded in other threads.
I was completely in love, I think it’s understandable considering that to date I only own one guitar, which although expensive is still only one guitar.
So, tgpers, could you please upload…

@ivers @KRosser @Ed DeGenaro @WesDocJimi @jzucker
@vintagelove and all you other strong players.

If any of you could do me a favor (I would do it for you) I have a request. On a somewhat uptempo tune, an easy one, MR PC or Summertime at a quicker…

Guitar Goals: let’s be realistic

Another thread made me think about just what the hell it is, or was, that made us start the instrument and what keeps us going.

For me, I just really liked rock, hard rock, and 80s metal of all kinds. I wanted to play that mind of music. I still play that kind of music.

Having EVH as your…

Which guitar are you playing today?
silvertonebetty · Mar 10, 2022 at 1:23 AM · Replies 328
Today I was playing my 74 fender twin reverb with my guild starfire 5 and my telecaster deluxe.

Also I switch some tubes in it and what a difference. V2 tube in place with the v1 and what a difference. The guild just sang like I never heard before. 494F721F-91C5-4015-A62E-EEE9A567C461.jpeg

Sold a guitar on Reverb and some strange thing happened
gsnake · Aug 18, 2023 at 1:38 AM · Replies 2K
I have sold almost a new Les Paul on Reverb. And then I got a refund request when the buyer received it claiming the weight of the guitar is not as specified (0.2 lbs difference) and there is a crack on the headstock. First of all, the buyer had the guitar for about 2 hours before he sent a…
2 humbuckers, 5 way switch wiring

I’m having trouble tracking down a diagram that has the Ibanez style pickup switching:

But with a Fender 5 way pickup selector?

I assume this is possible since it has the same number of tabs.
I have only been able to find the SD one which is different:

Need overdrive for SG and Fender amp (flattish mids)
BMX · Sep 24, 2023 at 8:57 PM · Replies 14
I’ve gone around in circles on this and tried a bunch of stuff. I don’t want a Marshall in a box or a tube screamer. The closest I’ve come is a Nobels odr-1 type (Wampler Belle, Odr-1 bc, DCW ODR Mod) but looking for other things ideas.

The closest I’ve come was the RC Booster v2 but I don’t…
